A Vivid Vision for a Sustainable Future
One of our recurring projects with NDB is developing the logo for its annual meetings. The 2024 edition had its challenges, but we’re proud of both the creative process and the outcome.
Our early concepts explored multiple directions—from the protea flower and cityscapes to baobab trees and South African landmarks. After several iterations, we returned to one of the original ideas inspired by the art of the Ndebele tribe.
Logo Design – A Blossom of Inspiration from South African Culture
The final logo draws from the rich visual heritage of South Africa’s Ndebele tribe, renowned for its vibrant mural art characterised by bold colours and precise geometric forms. This cultural foundation is reimagined in a modern emblem that celebrates tradition and a progressive vision for the future.
Symmetry in Form
Composed of basic geometric shapes, the logo captures the essence of Ndebele patterns, translated into a contemporary symbol.
A Fusion of Colours
While anchored in NDB’s signature green and the colours of the South African flag, the palette also integrates softer tones—like pink and light blue from Ndebele murals—to express the interconnectedness of culture, nature, and sustainable development.
This project reflects our continued commitment to creating thoughtful design rooted in cultural relevance and visual clarity. Collaborating with NDB on the 9th Annual Meeting was a creative challenge and a meaningful opportunity to celebrate place, purpose, and progress through design. We look forward to supporting future milestones that bring ideas and identity together in inspiring ways.
