A Cohesive Visual System for Annual Reporting

Overview
As a long-term design partner of the New Development Bank (NDB), we continue to design its annual reports across both print and digital formats. With a strong understanding of the Bank's brand and content structure, we deliver clear, consistent, and well-executed reports within tight timelines—supporting effective communication year after year.

Design Approach
Across both editions, the design follows a clean and contemporary visual language, combining infographics with project imagery to enhance clarity and support effective communication. The approach balances structured information with visual storytelling, making complex content more accessible.

2024 — Refining Brand Expression 
The 2024 report builds on this foundation, placing greater emphasis on brand presence and visual refinement to strengthen stakeholder pride and connection to NDB's identity.

The cover returns to NDB's core identity, featuring a cut-out logo detail that reveals project imagery beneath. This subtle device reflects the connection between the Bank's vision and its real-world outcomes, while adding depth and visual interest.

2023 — Expressing Momentum
The 2023 report focuses on conveying progress and collective achievement.

Its cover takes inspiration from NDB's logo, using an arrow form to bring together project imagery from member countries with green geometric elements. The resulting composition symbolises forward Momentum and highlights the scale and diversity of NDB's work.

Digital Formats
Both editions were delivered in complementary digital formats to support different reading preferences:

• Microsite / Landing Page: A streamlined presentation of key content, with a clean interface and intuitive navigation for accessible online reading.
• Interactive PDF: Designed for flexibility, featuring bookmarks, hyperlinks, and options for download and print, allowing easy navigation both online and offline.

Outcome
Through a consistent and adaptable design system, the 2023 and 2024 reports reinforce NDB's brand while improving readability and user experience across formats. The result is a clear and cohesive communication tool that supports the Bank's ongoing engagement with its stakeholders.

NDB entrusted us with the 2021 report, marking a significant milestone as we were re-engaged for this vital project. Building on our experience from their 2017 report, we successfully delivered the 2021 and 2022 reports, both print and online, within tight deadlines, overcoming challenges and exceeding project expectations. The consistent perseverance shown in overcoming challenges has strengthened our partnership with NDB.

NDB Annual Report 2022

The 2022 report showcases NDB's modern design, featuring infographics and project imagery for easy reading.

The cover design meets NDB's request to showcase milestones in the projects funded throughout the years rather than focusing on a single project as in the past years' covers.

In addition to the print version, the project includes two dynamic digital formats:

• We've designed a user-friendly mini-site, or landing page, that succinctly summarizes the report's key data and insights. This format is easy to navigate and provides a comfortable reading experience.
• The smart PDF, designed with user convenience in mind, is available as an interactive online version. This allows users to flip through the entire report and access features such as printing, downloading, and bookmarking. The downloadable version has key content hyperlinked for easy offline navigation, making it a user-friendly option.

For this year's report, we created a cover with a fold-out spread that highlights an NDB project. The report's design aligns with NDB's preference for a clean layout that focuses on the content. Each chapter opener features a full-page image of an NDB project with captions in a distinctive call-out style.
