Furniture That Slides |
We like a piece of furniture to be slidey. To be re-configurable. To change with the owner. Like the REK coffee table or bookcase from Reiner de Jong. The Chubby Brothers table from Brian Lee. The ReStyle table from James Howlett. |

Rope Bench |
This rope bench by Yoav Reches has no screws, nails or glue. It is held together by the rope that snakes throughout the piece. I think it looks a bit like a dog on a lead. More examples of furniture without glue or nails can be found in Evolving Kit Furniture (rope) and Puzzle Furniture (joints). |

Solid Wood Light |
This light (called Cub) was designed by Julian Robin. It looks like a solid block of wood until the light is switched on. Then it glows softly and shows shadows of leaves. Lovely. Available from the Hix store for Euro 290. |

Voronoi Diagram As Chair |
The Vuzzle Chair by Christopher Daniel is inspired by Voronoi diagrams (a special kind of decomposition of a metric space determined by distances to a specified discrete set of objects in the space - Wikipedia). Starting life as a cube of 59 shaped cushions each with a neodymium magnet - the cushions can be arranged in many ways - for example to make a big old arm chair. More pics as Fubiz. |

Kids Paper Fold-Up Chairs |
These chairs are from a Japanese company called Sankei. The tubes of the chair are made from paper. This means kids can paint/colour their chairs. Also the paper rolls can be easily replaced as kids grow. There's no sharp corners and no gaps to trap fingers too. Coming soon in big sizes for grown-ups who like a bit of DIY. |

Mobius Love Seat |
This armchair is inspired by the Möbius strip. It's called Moebius and is made by Onyx in Thailand from eco friendly rattan and water hyacinth. (They also make furniture out of bamboo.) It's a classic love seat - in which the occupants face each other. The Moebius is part of their Sphere collection - which includes many pieces based on mathematical shapes. |

Folding Map Table |
Inspired by a pop-up map, Sanna Lindström and Sigrid Strömgren have designed Grand Central - an expandable table. The table top has 22 pieces which unfold to make the circular top and the legs switch from an L shaped to a cross. |
