GalaxyDress: Frock Meets Display
The GalaxyDress by CuteCircuit is on display at the Chicago Musuem of Science and Technology as part of their Fast Forward exhibit. There's 24,000 LEDs on this frock! You need to see the video (embedded below from YouTube) to appreciate the beauty of this piece.
Shanghai Expo Sun Valley
The "Expo Axis" is a 1km long multi-level boulevard connecting the main areas of the Shanghai Expo. It features six huge cone shaped "Sun Valleys" which collect sun light for the lower levels and rain water for re-cycling. It looks amazing when it is lit up at night and is visible from the elevated road that runs by the expo. More pics on the People's Daily.
NYPL Logo
The New York Public Library has a new logo and typeface (press release). There's a video on YouTube (embedded below) about the evolution of the logo. The new font is Keivit by Michael Abbink.
Interactive Cell Size Comparison
The Genetic Science Learning Center and the University of Utah have made an interactive cell size comparison Flash app. It allows the user to zoom from 1mm scale (coffee beans, grains of rice) to 100 um (carbon atoms). It's very cool. Have a play.
Royal Mail Stamps Based On Album Covers
In 2010 the Royal Mail will be releasing a series of stamps based on classic album covers from British artists. Creative Review has lots of pictures of the stamps. Oddly no Beatles albums make it in to the set. The stamps were designed by Studio Dempsey. At some point in the stamps should also appear on the Royal Mail's web site. Stamp Albums.
FLAP Solar Bag
Timbuk2 worked with Pop!Tech and The Portable Light Project to create a solar powered LED light that’s disguised as a messenger bag. The bag/light is aimed at places where electricity may be scarce or non-exsistent. It looks great.

Elliptical Chair
We love this Elliptical Chair by Notus Design. It can be a sit up chair or a lay back and rock chair. It reminds me of Pocoyo. Been watching too much children's TV...
